PARKLANDS SPEEDWAY - UPDATE

The fact I didn't progress at all with the previous design was partly due to the cars I'm busy with, and the fact I didn't like the layout really. So, I played around and came up with this. And today I knuckled down and almost finished the base part, the elevated sections, and glued down all the supports.

Below some photos of the new layout. It's slightly LONGER than the old design, and provides multiple radius corners as well as 3 Lane changers, 2 single, and 1 dual unit.. More pics to follow soon.

PARKLANDS SPEEDWAY - OLD NEWS

The Table is completed and functional already, lay down some correx along the back straight, and basically getting ready to start assembly. Procrastination is because I am waiting for NEW N-Digital Kit to arrive in the Country, which I will then purchase, and get the latest release of the N-Digital Software Revision. I also get two Lane Changer Chips in the kit, and together with a few from Peter, I can the convert all my Carrera LC's, and then clean them, and continue with the assembly.

Here's a few pic's I took for interest. Comments about each pic included.

I wrote on Slotforum in the Carrera Pro X digital Thread I was taking a hammer to my PRO X parts.. Here in good working order... Here not good working order...

;-))))))

Here is my collection of Carrera Lane Changers, pit tracks etc.. Need a good clean before the Conversion starts. Comparison 1. Carrera Lane Changers are 100% high-speed.. Ninco's are definately not.. Comparison 2. Carrera Track is wider, much better for 1/24 cars as well as 1/32 cars.
Comparison 3. The Similarities of the Lane Changer Chips can be seen here. the transfer process is VERY simple. Comparison 4.. Ninco leave the supply wires to the Solenoid dangerously bare! System failure imminent.. Carrera at least protect the supply wires to the Solenoid. Possibility of a short, ZERO %. Comparison 5. Carrera Lane Changing occurs when you hold down the LC button on the controller as the car passes over this LED. Honestly, the system DID work perfectly.. Ninco have a "dead strip", which is dangerously long, and often causes cars to "die" on the track, depending where the Lane Changer is situated.

or THIS!!!

So I had to reduce the track design in order to fit it into the space, and table I've made. So it's still an equal length symmetric design, just more bridgework needed.. Here are some pictures of the fold down table in the Garage. Max size is 4 Meters x 1.5 Meters.. Click on an image to see the Table construction below,,
